The British Sign Language (BSL) (Scotland) Act 2015 requires public bodies to publish BSL plans from October 2018. The BSL National Plan 2017-2023 was published on 24 October 2017 following extensive engagement with D/deaf and Deafblind BSL users. The purpose of this plan is to ensure D/deaf and Deafblind BSL users are fully involved in all aspects of daily and public life. This action plan aims to make Scotland the best place in the world for BSL users to live, work and visit by promoting and supporting BSL and those who use it.

Revenue Scotland’s Draft BSL Plan sets out draft actions that Revenue Scotland will take over the period 2018-2023. This draft plan is available to download in written English and BSL below:

Community engagement events

To launch the consultation on its draft BSL plan, Revenue Scotland invites all BSL Users, and those involved in assisting BSL users, to attend one of the upcoming community engagement events. At the event Revenue Scotland’s draft BSL Plan will be discussed and users will be invited to provide feedback to shape the final plan. The event details are provided below.
