Johanna Boyd joins Revenue Scotland as new Chief Executive

Revenue Scotland is pleased to announce that Johanna Boyd has officially joined as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Revenue Scotland is pleased to announce that Johanna Boyd has officially joined as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Johanna brings with her extensive experience in leadership, law, and governance. Prior to joining Revenue Scotland, she served as Chief Executive of Planning Aid Scotland and is dual-qualified as a (non-practising) English barrister and Scottish solicitor. Throughout her career, Johanna has demonstrated a strong commitment to innovation, integrity, and public service, leading high-performing teams and delivering strategic direction across complex organisations.

Aidan O’Carroll, Chair of Revenue Scotland, welcomed the appointment, saying:

“On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to welcome Johanna to Revenue Scotland. I am confident that under her leadership, Revenue Scotland will continue to deliver excellence for the people of Scotland.”

Elaine Lorimer, who served as Chief Executive from 2016 said:

“It has been an honour to lead Revenue Scotland. I am very pleased to hand over to Johanna, who I know will continue to build on the organisation’s strong foundation of integrity, innovation, and service.”

Speaking on her appointment, Johanna Boyd said:

“I am very happy to take up the role of Chief Executive at Revenue Scotland. This is a pivotal time for the organisation, and I look forward to working with the talented team and the Board to build on our successes and continue delivering excellence for the people of Scotland.”

Revenue Scotland extends its thanks to Elaine Lorimer for her leadership and contributions and warmly welcomes Johanna Boyd as she begins her tenure as Chief Executive.
